Women figures is an ancient subject matter for paintings. What I felt most peculiar is from the 18th century most art critics tried their best to insinuate female bodies as a healthy subject which will not provoke impure thoughts. I think the view is against human nature and it is hypocritical. But from my artist’s perspective, there is no hint of impurity. I see them as mediums of light and color, and as a reflection of me. These qualities are what fascinate me the most.
