China Millennium Monument Museum and Mountain Art Foundation proudly presented Two Contemporary Russian Masters.  The works are from the Soviet Masters, A. A. Milnikov and Tahir Salahov.  There are more than 120 works of Oil paintings and skeches shown in the exhibition.

A.A. Milnikov, outstanding modern Russian painter, enjoys the highest honorary titles of people’s artist, academician of the academy of fine arts, etc. in Russian art circles. He studied in Repin Academy of Fine Arts from 1940 to 1946 and after graduation, he stayed there as a teacher and at the same time received further study as post graduate, receiving his postgraduate degree in 1948. He has been operating independent teaching studio since 1963, having students all around Russia and a large number of young followers.

Milnikov visited Beijing, Suzhou and Hangzhou in 1950s and has established deep affection to Chinese people and Chinese art. In the recent ten years, he has received Chinese artists visiting Russia for many times. Coming to China again when 72 in September 1991, he gave lectures in China Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts in Hangzhou and held a two-week workshop of oil painting. In honor of his contribution to the communication between Chinese and Russian art, the China Central Academy of Fine Arts has held a grand ceremony to award Milnikov the title of its Honorary Professor.

With his innovative artistic principle and reality-rooted artistic concept, Milnikov has always been vital with his art.
