Zhu Yiqing & Xue Yongjun have known each other since childhood and have been good friend since then.  Their working attitude, their way of thinking, and their ideal are compatible.  They are born in the 70s and just about all the children born at the time, they went through drastic changes in China: Reforming and opening up, importing of western culture, importing of manga and anime culture, and coming of computer and internet era.  In the course of growing up, they try to protect their Chinese traditional value from foreign one.

Undeniably, foreign culture has made them question their own value.  And with both went through the same experiences, they used Chinese seal as a tool to recreate these experiences.  Chinese seal is a traditional Chinese symbol, but for them, it represents Chinese value.  There are a lot of foreign images in their art works: Mona Lisa, Marilyn Monroe, David Beckham…etc.  And in these images, they use Chinese seal as a way to resist the foreign culture.  In the process of creation, they also use traditional Chinese painting and Chinese idol to recreate the glory of Chinese culture.  It is unknown whether Zhu Yiqing & Xue Yongyun are slowly consumed by foreign cultura or not; but if there a cultural conflict, they will continue to express the issue in their own way.
