Art serves as Hsiu Yueh's memory of most authentic life and collage of mind. In her artworks, we can see not only pictures in paintings but also poems in poetry.

The inspiration of the solo exhibition’s theme coming from establishment of linguistic symbolic codings, “Inside the Paintings, Outside the Mind” sums up the scenes of the paintings: everything inside are outside the mind. No matter they are inside the paintings and outside the mind, or inside the mind and outside the paintings, and no matter they are inside and outside the paintings and mind, or inside and outside mind and paintings, they are Hsiu Yueh’s painting realm of mental collage dancing and changing with mood and memories, showing her distinctive Shangri-La mood.

Hsiu Yueh’s paintings are full of perceptual images and changing symbolic codings, as in the subjective and dreamlike colors, warm colors show the atmosphere in south of Taiwan, while the cold colors present the changing world. The attraction of her paintings comes from the carefully divided pictorial plan, with pluralistic living episodes in good organization, multiple plots like juxtaposition of windows full of imagination, narrative stories out of life in a scenes-collecting way and extraordinary imagination as well as pictures in paintings ; what’s more, there are also poems in poetry. The painting vocabulary of mental collage genralized above is Hsiu Yueh’s most unique personal style.
